MATHEON-D15: Functional nano-structures
Functional nano-structures: Simulation and Design of metamaterials and photonic cavities
With our simulation tools for time-harmonic Maxwell's equations we investigate newly developed materials and devices. The project has two main focuses: Simulation of metamterials and of resonances in photonic cavities. | ![]() |
Short Description
Nanostructure science is internationally ranked as one of the most important technological fields. A key player in this field is the DFG Research Center for Functional Nanostructures Karlsruhe (CFN). The areas of nano-photonics and metamaterials are main areas of research at CFN. These areas are investigated in this project from the side of computational mathematics. The project has two main focuses: Simulation of metamterials and of resonances in photonic cavities.
