Former Research Groups

Mathematical Geometry Processing (headed by Dr. Konrad Polthier)

The research group resided at ZIB from 2004 to 2005. Its major topics
were geometric algorithms for surface optimization, discrete differential
geometry with an empasis on numerical analysis, and geometric expertise
for CAD and the computer graphics industry. They have also developed
JavaView, a 3D geometry viewer and mathematical visualization software.

Comparative Visualization (headed by Dr. Ingrid Hotz)

The Emmy Noether Junior Research Group resided at ZIB from 2006 to
2012. Its major topics were the development of new methods for scientific
visualization and data analysis. The main focus was on understanding and
comparison of tensor and vector fields with applications in geo and material
     sciences.
