The offical launch of our Exadata demo center at ZIB was on 13. September 2011.

The Exadata database machine of Oracle is a database platform, which is offering best performance for the management of large databases (data warehousing), as well as for transactional systems (OLTP online transaction processing).

Oracle and Computacenter are offering a test-system at Zuse Institute Berlin for customers of the public area.
Specific applications are tested here using the Oracle Exadata system.

Since November 2008, the departement IT Service at ZIB is acting as a "Center of Excellence, data and storage management" and among other things is offering a neutral place for tests and benchmarks.

The IT Service at ZIB takes care about the technical implementation of test environments, inspections and the creation of resilent measurements for the proof of functionality and performance.
