Konrad-Zuse-Zentrum accelerates High Performance Network with Cisco
The company Ciso has published a report about
"Konrad-Zuse-Zentrum accelerated  storage traffic for high-performance computers with Cisco Nexus 5020".
This is in consideration of the 10 GE switches from Cisco used in the ZIB infrastructure, where the protocols IP and FC quasi simultaneously running over one 10 Gigabit Ethernet HBA and thus bringing together the worlds of data and storage networks.

Crossroads: Success Story
The company Crossroads releases a report on the success of start-up using  ReadVerify Appliance at ZIB. Diagnostic information from the tape drives are used to detect possible problems with tapes proactively to identify in advance, before they grow into real problems.

Sun Newsflash: Sun Center of Excellence for Data- and Storag Management at Zuse-Institut Berlin
On 5. November the Sun Center of Excellence for data and storage management was solemnly opened at ZIB. Other areas of this COE are especially data management (reliable, distributed file systems) and storage management (high-performance online storage, SAN and archive memory).

The company's Sun and LSI published a report on the storage solutions with fast disk storage, tape libraries, Fibre Channel networks and servers with SAM-FS/QFS in the ZIB.
