Based on a reliable partnership the Zuse-Institut Berlin decided in 2007 to expand the existing storage with four Sun StorageTek 6540 and three Sun StorageTek 6140. All of them were combined with the Sun StorageTek Common Array Manager, the Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM) solution SAM-FS and Sun StorageTek QFS the multihost capable file system of Sun. Two Server of type Sun Fire X4600 M2 are managing the storage.

At this point it has to notice that this description reflects the situation at the time the articel was written. From this point of view the articel shows our early activities on this area of solutions.
