Computational Nano-Optics

Head:

Frank Schmidt

Assistant:

Erlinda C. Körnig
Renata Kussack

Fast and reliable simulation of electromagnetic fields in three space dimensions remains one of the key challenges of scientific computing. The main focus of research in the nano-optics group is addressing this challenge, particularly through a focus on adaptive finite element methods. Our main application area is integrated optics, nevertheless applications ranging from climate to medical research are treated as well.
