DEFORM
Deformable Patient Models for Medical Therapy Planning
Description
The simulation and planning with the help of computers is becoming more and more an indispensable aid for a lot of medical treatment methods; e.g. for radiation therapy a patient specific planning is mandatory. This patient specific planning is based on a model of the patient which is generated with the aid of imaging techniques like CT or NMR. In many applications there is the problem that the positioning of the patient during the treatment deviates from the position at which the pictures were taken. This can cause mistakes in the planning. The goal of this project is to adapt the model of the patient to the actual positioning of the patient during the treatment. Further information is available in the detailed project description.
