The building management system (BMS) monitors and regulates the the climate conditions of the room for the tape archiv. In the case of a fault personal becomes alarmed automatically.
Independent from the BMS sensors are connected to the management system of IT Service. The system also measures the values of the environmental conditions and is sending alarm messages in case of a deviation from the optimum.

According to the specifications of the manufacturers and with aspect of the different kinds of tape material, we are monitoring the compliance of the environmental conditions for our tape robots.
The tolerable values for relative humidity are valid during use of tape in a drive.
For acclimatization new inserted tapes raimain unused for at least 24 hours, better 72 hours.
