Collaborative Distributed Surgery Planning

Description

This project aims at the design and implementation of a distributed surgery planning system. The preoperative planning of complex surgeries often requires an interdisciplinary collaboration of multifarious specialists, not always being at the same location. The goal is to provide a shared planning environment as a common platform for the collaboration of medical experts in surgery, radiology, orthodontics etc. as well as bioengineerinng and computer science for instance. With the help of a collaborative distributed planning system, using fast network connections and video streaming techniques, it is possible to allow many participants to remotely communicate, share experience and discuss different opinions. Further information is available in the detailed project description.
