Description

Although much effort has been made, fully automatic segmentation of 3D or even 2D data is still not possible today. Therefore, manual or semi-automatic segmentation tools are usually applied in practice, and our main goal is to develop semi-automatic or interactive tools to reduce the time and effort necessary for human interaction. Without such tools the segmentation of a medical image dataset (ct) with 40 - 60 slices and 256 x 256 voxels per slice takes between one and two hours.
