EuroVis 2009 is the eleventh annual Visualization Symposium jointly organized by the Eurographics Working Group on Data Visualization and the IEEE Visualization and Graphics Technical Committee.

Venue & Travel Info

EuroVis 2009 will take place in the appealing Harnack House, an international meeting place for scientists, in Berlin-Dahlem. The Harnack House belongs to the Max Planck Society and has been built by its predecessor, the Kaiser Wilhelm Society. A panorama tour is available here.

The Harnack House offers a perfect environment for EuroVis 2009, including lecture halls, a Wintergarten, patio and a garden, where coffee will be served during breaks, was well as facilities for accomodation. The Harnackhaus is in close proximity to the campus of the Free University of Berlin, whose dining halls and coffee bars can also be used.

From Tegel international airport
Take bus 109 to Jakob-Kaiser-Platz (terminal stop Zoologischer Garten). At Jakob-Kaiser-Platz transfer to the subway line 7 (U7, terminal stop Rudow) to Fehrbelliner Platz. There, transfer to the subway line 3 (U3, terminal stop Krumme Lanke). Get off at Thielplatz and leave the station in driving direction using the left exit. If you look in driving direction of the subway, the Harnack-House is located approximately 100 meters on the left side of the street (Brümmerstraße).

From Schönefeld international airport
Take the bus 171 to underground-station Rudow. Here switch to subway line 7 (U7, terminal stop Rathaus Spandau). Get off at Fehrbelliner Platz and switch trains to line 3 (U3, terminal stop Krumme Lanke). Get off at Thielplatz and leave the station in driving direction using the left exit. If you look in driving direction of the subway, the Harnack-House is located approximately 100 meters on the left side of the street (Brümmerstraße).

From main railway station Hauptbahnhof
Take interurban train line 7 (S7, terminal stop Potsdam) and get off at Zoologischer Garten. There take subway line 9 (U9, terminal stop Rathaus Steglitz) and get off at Spichernstraße. There switch trains to U3 direction Krumme Lanke. Get off at Thielplatz and leave the station in driving direction using the left exit. If you look in driving direction of the subway, the Harnack-House is located approximately 100 meters on the left side of the street (Brümmerstraße).

From railway station Südkreuz
Take interurban train line 41 (S41, circular railway in clockwise direction, terminal station Gesundbrunnen) to Heidelberger Platz. There, transfer to the subway line 3 (U3, terminal stop Krumme Lanke). Get off at Thielplatz and leave the station in driving direction using the left exit. If you look in driving direction of the subway, the Harnack-House is located approximately 100 meters on the left side of the street (Brümmerstraße).

Arriving by car
Leave Autobahn 115 at exit Hüttenweg. Arriving from South or North turn right or left, respectively, and take the way through the forest to Dahlem. At the corner Hüttenweg/Clayallee turn right, then turn left into Saargemünder Strasse. Shortly thereafter you arrive at Ihnestrasse (on the right). The Harnack-House is on the corner Ihnestraße/Saargemünder Straße. A parking place is in front of the conference site.
