for the excellence cluster MATH+ project entitled “Predicting the clinical course of COVID-19 patients”. 

This vacancy needs to be filled at the earliest possible date and is a fixed-term contract until 31 December 2021 (project end). 

Job Description 

We are looking for a candidate for the development and implementation of algorithms and for the analysis of data related to COVID research. This includes in particular the development of artificial intelligence methods for the interpretable analysis of static and time-dependent bio-medical mass data in the area of proteomics. 

Your Tasks 

  • Participation in the project and intensive cooperation with project and clinical partners. 
  • Development and implementation of algorithms for the automated analysis, interpretation and visualization of bio-medical data from internal and external data sources, in particular clinical proteomics data. 

Your Profile 

  • Above average Master's degree in Bioinformatics with a focus on the analysis of medical data. 
  • Very good programming skills in Python and R. 
  • Very good knowledge of English. 
  • Experience in theory and practice in the following areas: • Molecular biology, in particular PCR and HPLC 
  • Medical omics data analysis and interpretation (e.g. of expression data) 
  • "Technical IT (e.g. databases)

Although the position advertised full-time, a part-time agreement is also possible.
