A post on Slashdot reports that Google will soon offer free storage for massive scientific data on http://research.google.com/. Alexis Madrigal mentions more details in a post on Wired. Pimm's post on the same topic displays the device to send data on slide 10/16. Google seems to plan to collect data by shipping hard drives.
Maybe I'll try with the 8 GByte micro-CT data set of a human vertebral body, which we published in 2005. Or is is too small for Google?
