Title: Predictive Modeling of Advanced Functional Thin Films: Toward Joint Research Initiatives with Zuse

Speaker: Prof. Nadire Nayir, Computational Materials Science Group, Paul-Drude-Institut für Festkörperelektronik, Berlin

Abstract: The growth of technologically important thin films, such as quantum materials, involves complex processes across multiple length and time scales, at the intersection of physics, chemistry, and mathematics. Understanding how microscopic interactions give rise to macroscopic material behavior is a major challenge - and one where computational modeling plays a critical role. In this talk, I will showcase our multiscale modeling strategies for the synthesis and characterization of advanced functional thin films, connecting fundamental theory with experimental observations [1-4].
