Today is the 25th anniversary of the Cooperative Library Network Berlin-Brandenburg. Since 1 April 1997, the KOBV has been developing new services for users and libraries, expanding information infrastructures in Berlin and Brandenburg, connecting local libraries and providing information on current topics.

In recent weeks, we have been sharing our milestones on Twitter. From the launch of the KOBV search engine MetaLib in 2001, to the foundation of a strategic alliance with the Bavarian Library Association in 2007 and the joint association database B3Kat established in this context in 2008, to the development of the services OPUS4 (2010), KOBV-Portal (2014), EWIG (2016) and DeepGreen (2016). These milestones show only a sample of KOBV's projects and successes over the past 25 years.

And there is also a lot for KOBV to do in the next 25 years. For some months now, the KOBV and BVB committees have been looking at the overall system of interconnected and local systems in order to be prepared for the future.

In the newsletter, current and former KOBV staff/members give us answers to questions about the origin and further development of the network. Read and celebrate with us!
