Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, dear digiS Project Partners and Interested Parties,

The Funding Guideline for the Digitisation of Cultural Heritage Objects Berlin 2021 has been published today by the Senate Department for Culture and Europe. Berlin's cultural heritage institutions (archives, libraries, museums, memorial sites, etc.) can once again apply for project funding for digitisation for the year 2021. The focus of the funding programme is to provide access to information and objects of Berlin's cultural heritage for the interested public – also with a view to their presentation in the Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek. The processing of the data is a central point of the funding and the projects. Cultural heritage digitisation projects that take aspects of dissemination into consideration are possible due to the special conditions during the Corona period.

As always, the allocation of funds is subject to the availability of budget funds. An independent jury will make a recommendation on the allocation of project funds by the end of the year.

This year, digiS will again be responsible for monitoring the tendering procedure and the technical preparation for the jury recommendation. Should you wish to apply with a project, please contact us in advance. We are happy to advise all applicants on all questions and aspects of the application process. Please contact us in good time by e-mail at @email.

You can inform yourself in advance on our website about the experiences of our previous project partners. The final reports of the projects are available online. We have already compiled the most common FAQs on the funding programme for you, and you will also find an aid for preparing the funding application on our website. You can find the PDF on the funding guidelines here.
