The heureka Foundation for Environment and Mobility has awarded Stephanie Riedmüller (Sustainable Energy Planning, ZIB) with the 1st prize of the Heureka Student Award 2023 for her master's thesis. The ceremony took place during the conference "HEUREKA'24 - Optimierung in Verkehr und Transport" in Stuttgart. Stephanie's thesis "A Path-based Model for Integrated Periodic Timetabling and Passenger Routing" introduces a novel model for the optimization of periodic timetables in public transport that integrates the route choice of the passengers and that provides better dual bounds than previous approaches. The thesis has been supervised by Ralf Borndörfer and Niels Lindner from the Network Optimization Department at ZIB.
