The prediction of material failure due to fatigue under mechanical load is today mainly done experimentally. Being
able to efficiently simulate material fatigue on the involved long time
scales would admit considerable savings in both the time involved to
determine a materials fatigue behaviour as well as required resources.

In cooperation with the Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung (BAM) we
investigate the simulation of long time material fatigue of concrete with
particular focus on efficient time integration.
