Only few studies concentrating on the modelling and simulation of the female menstrual cycle have been published in the scientific literature and, if so, they mostly concern only partial aspects of the cycle, for example, either its hormonal or its biological/physiological features. In order to catch reality closer, more complex models are needed that cover, at best, all of the important processes involved. The aim of this research is to understand the network of processes in healthy women as accurately as possible, and in the next step, to simulate therapeutic options in the required level of detail.
