The company Förster-Technik GmbH Engen sells immunoassay-based measurement devices for the detection of progesterone in milk. These devices must be calibrated regularly, usually with aqueous dilutions. The goal of this project was to develop a detailed mathematical modelling of the underlying reaction kinetics that can account for rebinding effects and changes in the surface of the fibres.
