This workshop aims at bringing together experts on (large- and smaller-scale) simulation of societal phenomena with experts on model reduction and data-driven model construction to explore the potential of research at the intersection of these fields for contributing to decision support on societal challenges. It is held back to back with a Decision Theatre workshop “Mobility and Social Cohesion – What Future for Berlin?” (taking place on March 10, 2020 at Zuse Institute Berlin) that poses a concrete application setting for this potential research area.
