within the Sfb 1114, for the research area „Multiscale modeling and simulation of spatio-temporal master equations” (C03). The position is to be filled as soon as possible under a fixed-term contract for two years with the option to be extended.
Description of the area of responsibility:
Development of numerical methods for solving the spatio-temporal master equation and application to realistic problems in the field of cellular reaction kinetics; particular analysis of a hierarchy of spatio-temporal master equations with different spatial resolution and distribution of number of particles, consideration of appropriate asymptotic limit cases and development of appropriate numerical methods.
Requirements:
University degree in mathematics or a natural science.
Qualifications:
Ideally you possess the following qualifications:
- Experience with modeling and simulation for chemical master equations
- Experience with stochastic algorithms and/or asymptotic analysis
- Ability to interdisciplinary communication
- Very good knowledge of English
We expect creativity and commitment in the handling of problems. For the successful candidate we offer good scientific support, current research topics and involvement in national and international cooperation projects. A combination of the project work with a doctorate at the Free University of Berlin is possible.
