The 7th ZIB-IMI-ISM-NUS-RIKEN-MODAL Workshop on Future Algorithms and Applications was held by the Institute of Mathematics for Industry (IMI) of Kyushu University, the Institute of Statistical Mathematics (ISM), the National University of Singapore (NUS), RIKEN, and the Zuse Institute Berlin (ZIB). It took place from September 27th to September 30th, 2023, at the Zuse Institute Berlin in Berlin, Germany, and was organized by Katsuki Fujisawa (IMI), Satoshi Ito (ISM), Mirai Tanaka (ISM / RIKEN), Ying Chen (NUS), Ha Quang Minh (RIKEN), Yuji Shinano (ZIB / MODAL), Thorsten Koch (ZIB), Thi Thai Le (ZIB / MODAL), Milena Petkovic (ZIB), Janina Zittel (ZIB / MODAL), and Tim Kunt (ZIB).

At the workshop, distinguished participants from academia and industry converged to explore the forefront of future algorithms and their applications. This dynamic gathering facilitated the exchange of groundbreaking ideas, the strengthening of existing professional connections, and the inception of novel collaborative prospects. Additionally, the event featured illuminating presentations from the EnergyLab, the MobilityLab and the SynLab of the Research Campus MODAL, highlighting their latest theoretical innovations and the practical implications of their research.

We sincerely thank all the representatives shown in the group picture for their invaluable contributions, unwavering enthusiasm, and dedicated participation, all of which played pivotal roles in making this event an inspiring and highly successful gathering. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the following sponsors for their support, without which this workshop would not have been possible: Research Campus MODAL, Math+, Intelligent Integrated Data Analysis and Mathematical Optimization (I2DAMO), and German Operations Research Society (GOR).
