ZIB-hosted NHR scholarship recipient Robert Clausecker has successfully completed a second research project at the distance-learning university of Quebec (TÉLUQ) in Montréal, Canada. Hosted by Prof. Daniel Lemire, the project's objective was research on techniques for string processing using SIMD techniques.
This research follows an initial project of summer 2022, the result of which was a joint paper titled “Transcoding Unicode characters with AVX-512 instructions” on novel techniques for the fast conversion between UTF-8 and UTF-16 using SIMD techniques.
